Hey there! I’m Marina Dietrich, a multidisciplinary designer focused on forming brands and spaces, with conceptual thinking at the core of my work.

At the heart of my practice is the desire to create designs that go beyond the surface — shaping impactful and innovative experiences that engage the senses and emotions of the people who encounter them.

I draw inspiration from two contrasting yet complementary sources: the tranquility found in nature, art, and quiet spaces, and the boldness of urban environments — where color, energy, and typography take center stage. This blend of influences allows my work to range from minimalist simplicity to vibrant color combinations, all while staying true to the essence of each project.

Beyond my studies, I’ve had the chance to gain hands-on experience in the field. As part of Talk 12, a student-led initiative, I helped organize lectures with designers such as Mirko Borsche and the creators behind Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell. I also served as a student representative in 2020, navigating and exchanging ideas through challenging times. Working as an apprentice at Melville Brand Design in Munich, I gained a deeper insight into the professional environment of a design agency — an experience that later led to the opportunity to continue with them as a working student. Along the way, I’ve also taken on small independent projects, collaborating with friends and acquaintances on branding and design work.

In everything I create, my goal is to design experiences that resonate on a deeper level, telling stories that can be seen, heard, and felt.

As Stefan Sagmeister aptly puts it, “Good design is a journey that leads people into the unknown, guiding them step by step until they reach an understanding.” This philosophy guides my approach to design:

I’m not just creating something to look at, but a journey for people to experience and connect with.

Each project is an opportunity to innovate, explore new ideas and leave a lasting impression on those who encounter it.
